For the Famous Painting Competition held by *ThePencilClub and it recieved 2nd place!
I have chosen Edvard Munch's The Scream as the famous painting to use as reference. The Scream is definitely a haunting painting itself, and I've always wondered why this faceless man in a black robe was screaming. I also wondered about the two men at the back...were they the cause of the screaming depicted here? Since no one gave me a decent answer to these questions, I decided to make my own interpretations.
I kept the style and composition as close to the original as possible, and just changing a few things around. I kept the colors of the sun-set effect sky but instead of a landscape with a river, it is now a landscape with grass. Instead of a faceless man screaming I decided to put Ace Ventura with his stylish hair in here, screaming his butt off. Behind him I replaced the two well dressed men with two menacing looking bulls, raging after Ace...just to give Mr Ventura there something to scream about Obviously Ace is running away from them, after doing God knows what! Yes Ace Ventura is actually running...I know his legs do not appear that way but I know you can use your imaginations!
Media: Faber-Castell's coloring pencils, on A3 watercolor paper.
Before I read your description, I thought of what I would have thought, and I saw two big men in leather, beating the shit out of the small man.
This is very good, but, seeing as Ace Ventura was never my favourite of Jim's characters, it loses a bit of ground. I'm sure it would hit home with the movies fans.
Jim is hilarious! I especially like the movie The Truman Show, but I reckon he was the best in Me, Myself & Irene.
I decided to use Jim because, well he has the funniest face when he screams..infact he has the funniest facials whatever he does! Then the Ventura theme just naturally came in after that..

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
